John Latimer Young began a real estate career in 1977 when he acted as a Senior Account Officer of National Banking Group/Real Estate Industries at Citicorp/Citibank in New York.
Since that time, John has served in officer and upper management positions with several large firms including founding his own company, Young Seaboard Properties, Inc., which planned, financed and developed eight projects totaling 60 units with combined sales volume of $20 million. During the course of his career, John has been involved in the commercial construction financing for large build-to-suit office buildings, the implementation of the development of Atlanta residential subdivisions, and he has managed and generated revenues for large clients such as Chase Bank, First Bank System, Wells Fargo, and others. In 2003, John joined Lindsey’s Inc. Realtors specializing in commercial/industrial leasing and sales and residential development and sales throughout the south Atlanta metropolitan region.
An Atlanta native and Westminister Schools preparatory school graduate, John Young earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration/Finance at the College of William and Mary in Virginia where he is the Chairman of the Business School’s Executive Alumni Board and also serves on the Board of Sponsors. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Real Estate and Urban Development from the University of Georgia in addition to undergraduate studies in Economics at Emory University. He holds New York and Georgia real estate brokerage licenses.He is President of The Preservation Trust of Newnan-Coweta County Board and serves on Board of the Newnan-Coweta Historic Society.
John resides in Newnan, Georgia with his wife and two children and is a parishioner and member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church. He is a member of The Princeton Club of New York, the Capital City Club (Atlanta), The Short Hills Club (Short Hills, New Jersey) and The Newnan Country Club.
