Attending beer and wine festivals is a great way to enjoy yourself in the summer. These festivals are also a good opportunity to sample new drinks, hone your palate, and discover new favorites. The Atlanta area is lucky to have several excellent wine and beer festivals coming up. So, take a break from looking at Atlanta homes for sale, and check out one or more of these events.
- Summer Wine Festival at The Eastern: 777 Memorial Dr. SE, Atlanta, GA 30316
This will be the 6th Annual Summer Wine Festival at The Eastern. It's scheduled for August 13th, with two sessions being offered this year. The first session lasts from 12 - 4 pm and the second from 6 - 10 pm. You can purchase tickets for either session on the event website. Tickets are $45 in advance until August 4th, $50 after that, and $60 at the door.
Each ticket for the Summer Wine Festival includes samples of more than 50 wines, beers, and seltzers. There will be live music performed by local bands, plus food for sale from various food trucks and caterers. Each guest gets a free acrylic wine glass to commemorate the event.

If you enjoy craft beer and want to try alternative beers, Live! Alt Brew Fest is the festival for you. Live at the Battery Atlanta partners with Terrapin Taproom to put on this event, where more than 100 local beers are served. There will be multiple food vendors on-site, and some rare kegs will be tapped for guest enjoyment. The event will take place on August 13th, beginning at 3 pm.
Two different types of tickets are being offered for this event. General Admission tickets include beer tastings and a souvenir tasting stein. VIP tickets include tastings, a private buffet, a souvenir beer stein, a t-shirt, and exclusive tastings from Terrapin. You can purchase tickets on the event website.
- German Bierfest at Historic Fourth Ward Skatepark: 830 Willoughby Way NE, Atlanta, GA 30312
German Bierfest at Historic Fourth Ward Skatepark celebrates beer, German food, and German culture. It's scheduled for August 20th between 1 and 6 pm. Attendees get to taste more than 50 beers and wines while listening to live music and watching beer-themed performances.
Vendors at German Bierfest will serve pretzels, schnitzel, and bratwurst. Early bird General Admission tickets are just $30 each. VIP tickets start at $85.
- Brews & Bites Festival: 275 Riverside Parkway, Austell, GA 30168
Brews & Bites Festival is an annual event at Six Flags Over Georgia. This year's event is scheduled for August 27 - 19 and September 3 - 5. Each day, doors will be open from noon - 7 pm. Tickets are on sale on the Six Flags website, starting at $24. For $79.99, you can get admission to the park and the event.
At Brews & Bites Festival, guests can walk through the park and sample various craft beers, wines, and cocktails from local Atlanta Breweries. Some of the breweries in attendance are Wild Leak and Atlanta Hard Cider. Local food trucks will also be serving delicious fare.
