Atlanta Chocolate Shops - JYB Realty

As if chocolate lovers need an excuse to eat an entire bag of truffles, International Chocolate Day is right around the corner. Taking place September 13, this is the perfect time to discover a new favorite place to find chocolatey goodness. To get you started on your way to chocolatey heaven, our real estate agents have scoured the area, and these are just a few of the best chocolate shops around Atlanta:

  1. Cacao Atlanta Chocolate Company — 1046 N. Highland Ave. NE, Atlanta, GA 30305
Founded by the first female chocolatier in the continental U.S. and near Atlanta homes for sale, the Cacao Atlanta Chocolate Company lives by the philosophy that making chocolate is an art form. This is made quite clear even with the first bite of any of their delectable chocolate delights. To name just a couple of favorites that you absolutely must try, there's the Siamese Kitten (white chocolate, matcha, candied ginger) and the Campfire (graham cracker, toasted marshmallow fluff, marshmallow ash).

  2. The Chocolaterie — 3099 Main St., Duluth, GA 30096
Not too far from Atlanta in Historic Downtown Duluth, you'll find The Chocolaterie. Your visit will begin with a 70-foot chocolatier lady mural on the outside wall, where you'll often find someone taking a selfie. Inside, you'll discover everything from hand-painted chocolate truffles and handmade fudge to gourmet ice cream and traditional chocolate delights. While you're there, you can also pick up a variety of gifts, including bath & body and novelty items.

  3. Xocolatl Small Batch Chocolate — 99 Krog St., Atlanta, GA 30307
The first thing you might notice about the Xocolatl Small Batch Chocolate shop is that it's quite small. The chocolate is all produced in a space that only covers 250 square feet, which is very small for what it can produce. Residents and visitors are especially keen on their single-origin chocolate bars, which only include cacao and organic cane sugar, with no additives or fillers. The cacao beans come from various countries, allowing several flavor profiles from earthy and nutty to buttery and fruity. There's a little something for everyone!

  4. Chamberlains Chocolate Factory and Cafe — 1575 Old Alabama Rd., Ste. 205, Roswell, GA 30076
At this point, the motto for Chamberlains Chocolate Factory and Cafe should be "If you dip it, they will come." After all, it seems that they've concluded that anything can be dipped in chocolate. Perhaps chocolate-dipped gummy bears aren't so unique but wait until you try the chocolate-covered Twinkies and onion strings that have been deep-fried in chocolate. You can basically make an entire meal out of their selections, except that each food item is encased in chocolate.

  5. River Street Sweets — 455 Legends Place, Atlanta, GA 30339
The River Street Sweets candy shop is known for many different treats, including their delicious chocolates, fudge, chocolate-dipped pretzels, and more. If you stop in, you may get a chance to watch them make the fresh pralines right in front of you. Other fan favorites include their scrumptious taffy and tasty gelato. Part of this candy shop is self-service, so feel free to walk in, slip on a pair of disposable gloves, and fill bags with your favorites.
