If you're interested in Atlanta homes for sale, either as a prospective buyer or as a potential home seller, then you likely know that Atlanta stands as one of the most populous places in the United States. The city has certainly grown since its foundation as a transportation hub, now boasting the single busiest airport in the world, and able to call itself the ninth most populated metropolitan area in the nation.
If you're buying or selling in the Atlanta area, then it pays to know what's what (and where' where!) in the city. There's a lot to do in Atlanta, and it can be a little overwhelming if you're not sure where to start. Thankfully, our real estate agents are always on the lookout for up-and-coming neighborhoods, businesses, and events in the Atlanta area. Today we're here to fill you in on one of the biggest Halloween events in the area: one that takes place every year right in Atlanta's own Little Five Points neighborhood.
For the unfamiliar, Little Five Points is named for the Five Points neighborhood located at the center of downtown Atlanta. Little Five Points is a 10-mile drive or so from its namesake, and has become famous for its unique mixture of subcultures and its relaxed, Bohemian atmosphere. If you ask the locals, they'll tell you that Little Five Points is one of those places you have to go check out at least once. Little Five Points offers a wild collection of alternative shops and cafes, music shops, bars, secondhand bookstores, thrift shops and warehouses, and more.
If you haven't been before, there's no better time to check out Little Five Points than during the Little 5 Points Halloween Festival and Parade. This year, the event falls on Saturday, October 20. The L5P Halloween parade is considered one of the top ten Halloween events in the country, and boasts itself as the best Halloween parade in the entirety of the South! The average yearly turnout is about 35,000 people, and all gathered to enjoy the live entertainment, food, drink, and spectacle.
Sound interesting? The L5P Halloween event hosts a website, where you can find all the information you need about everything related to the parade and events for the day. Perhaps most important for first-time parade goers is a map of the parade route - where it starts, where it goes, and where to find entertainment along the way. The Little Five Points Halloween Parade offers live music all day long, a couple of DJs at the local Star Bar, eight different food vendors, and a booming artist's market. The festivities start at noon and continue until 11 PM, so be sure to check it out this year!
The Little Five Points Parade is just one of the fantastic events available in the Atlanta area, and L5P itself is one of many unique and thriving neighborhoods in this great city!
