Atlanta Filming Locations - JYB Realty

"All the world's a stage" is the classic opening line of a monologue from Shakespeare's As You Like It, but the phrase could certainly apply to modern-day Atlanta, which has become a favorite location for film crews. As you tour Atlanta homes for sale, check out these local spots that have appeared on movie and TV screens.

  1. High Museum of Art - 1280 Peachtree St. NW, Atlanta 30309
With its white concrete walls, spacious and light-filled atrium and impressive collection of world art, High Museum of Art is a natural setting for dramatic movie scenes. In its most recent appearance, the High stood in for the Museum of Great Britain during Killmonger's daring theft of a Wakandan tool in Black Panther. The popular Southeast museum also turned up in What to Expect When You're Expecting, Manhunter and Allegiant.

  2. Goat Farm Arts Center - 1200 Foster St. NW, Atlanta 30318
It's appropriate that the Goat Farm Arts Center, created as a venue dedicated to nurturing contemporary thought and performances should appear in films and TV. The Goat Farm was turned into a stage for the Reaping, a pivotal event in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Atlanta is one of the central locations of The Walking Dead, and the Goat Farm served double duty as a hideout in Season 1 and a camp in Season 2.

  3. Clough Commons - Georgia Tech Procurement Assistance Center - 266 4th St., Atlanta 30313
Clough Commons, part of the Georgia Tech library system, houses classrooms, labs, and services for the purpose of promoting collaborative teaching and learning. The impressive five-story, 222,000-square-foot building was transformed into the office of Google in The Internship. Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson starred in the movie about two displaced salesmen who wrangle internships at Google alongside hotshot tech geniuses.

  4. Bellwood Quarry - 9 Grove Park Place NW, Atlanta 30318
Unlike other Atlanta sites featured in movies and TV shows, Bellwood Quarry is valued for its absence of structures. The one-time granite mining site played a prominent role in Stranger Things as Sattler Quarry, site of several mysterious events. Bellwood Quarry also appeared as "the world's deepest pit" in The Fundamentals of Caring and the iconic quarry where survivors camped during Season 1 of The Walking Dead. Such scenes will be coming to an end with Bellwood Quarry in the midst of development as a 280-acre urban park.

Atlanta may look good on movie and TV screens, but it doesn't compare to how amazing the city is in real life. Contact us and let our real estate agents share the advantages and benefits of a home in Atlanta.
