If you own an e-scooter, it's important to have fun and interesting places nearby where you can ride it. When looking for a home, parks in the area and their scooter access will likely be a concern. Fortunately, our real estate agents can connect you with homes in a variety of interesting areas, near parks with great views, wide-open spaces, and paths to ride your scooter freely. In fact, if you don't have a scooter of your own, many of these parks have them for rent through Bird, Atlanta's scooter rental service. Here are five of the best Atlanta parks for scooter enthusiasts.
- Piedmont Park - 1320 Monroe Dr. NE, Atlanta, GA 30306
About a mile northeast of Downtown Atlanta, Piedmont Park features a two-and-a-half-mile loop that's perfect for exploring on your e-scooter. It also has three acres of off-leash dog park and a walking history tour of the area's physical and historical evolution.
- Historic Fourth Ward Park - 680 Dallas St. NE, Atlanta, GA 30308
Historic Fourth Ward Park is a dynamic part of the Atlanta BeltLine. It's just down the hill from the Eastside Trail, which is great for scooters, bikes, walking, and more. E-scooters were previously banned on the BeltLine, but are now allowed by city ordinance, provided riders exercise caution and remain courteous to those on foot.
- Centennial Olympic Park - 265 Park Ave. W NW, Atlanta, GA 30313
Boasting 22 beautiful acres in Downtown Atlanta, Centennial Olympic Park was originally built to prepare the city for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. Today, it regularly features concerts and other events. Certain areas of the park are designated as pedestrian-only, but there are also plenty of areas designed to accommodate other types of traffic, and scooters, in particular, are a common sight throughout the park.
- Freedom Park - Moreland Avenue NE & North Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA 30308
Freedom Park is one of the largest city parks in Atlanta. It's a linear park, meaning it has one long strip from one end to the other — perfect for e-scooters to traverse. The Freedom Park Trail is a paved path that allows bikes and scooters as long as the weather is clear. The trail is also crossed by the Eastside Trail, which connects it with Historic Fourth Ward Park.
- Grant Park - 90 Cherokee Ave. SE, Atlanta, GA 30312
The oldest city park in Atlanta, Grant Park was established in 1883. Its most popular area is Zoo Atlanta, formerly Grant Park Zoo. However, there's much more to the park than that. With over 130 acres of greenery, there's plenty of space for scooters, bikes, and more. Grant Park is also the name of the surrounding neighborhood, a lovely Victorian-style area with plenty of Atlanta homes for sale, that's also crying out to be explored by e-scooter.
These are just a few of the parks Atlanta has to offer. In addition to scooters, many are great for biking, hiking, and a host of other outdoor activities.
