Atlanta Road Races - JYB Realty

August and September are prime time for road races in Atlanta, as the schedule fills with various runs/walks in local parks and other scenic locations. They're frequently accompanied by music and other entertainment, and many help raise money for local or national non-profits, so you're helping out a good cause when you run.

Our real estate agents hope you can hit the road running at these races around Atlanta.

  • Atlanta Dogwood Festival Mimosa 5K – Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021 – Piedmont Park, 400 Park Dr., Atlanta, GA 30309
Runners in the Atlanta Dogwood Festival Mimosa 5K will have a refreshing treat at the end of the race if they're age 21 and up – a mimosa. If you have kids aged 7 and under, they can run the Mini-Mosa that's held after the 5K. And as runners, you'll get free admission to the Atlanta Dogwood Festival, a community staple for over 80 years.

  • RaceTrac's Run for Research 5K – August 15, 2021 – The Battery, 800 Battery Ave. SE, Atlanta, GA 30339
Break out your craziest socks and "Race for Fox in Your Craziest Socks" during RaceTrac's Run for Research 5K. This family-friendly race welcomes runners and walkers of all levels, and you can choose to run a 1K if you'd prefer a shorter distance. All proceeds from the races will help fund Parkinson's research through The Michael J. Fox Foundation. If you'd like to help raise more money, you can set up the fundraising option when you register. And after you're through running, stay for free food, prizes, and music.

  • Popsicle 5K – August 21, 2021 – Gordon White Park, 1354 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. SW, Atlanta, GA 30310
The course for the Popsicle 5K starts and finishes on the West End Trail of Atlanta's BeltLine, an outdoor space comprised of 22 miles of unused railroad tracks that circle the city's core. After the race, cool off with a cold popsicle at the park, and if you'd like, spend the rest of your day exploring the park.

  • Atlanta's Finest 5K – August 28, 2021 – Pemberton Place, 126 Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd. NW, Atlanta, GA 30308
Walk or run alongside officers and their families at the annual Atlanta's Finest 5K. You'll be able to also meet with members of the Bomb Squad, SWAT, Mounted Patrol, and more representatives of the Atlanta Police Department. The race has distances for the whole family, with a 5K, 1-mile run for ages 7 and up, and a 50-meter dash for kids 6 and under.

  • 9/11 Heroes Run/Walk/Ruck – September 11, 2021 – STATS Brewpub, 300 Marietta St. NW Suite 101, Atlanta, GA 30313
Started in 2007 by the family of fallen First Lt. Travis Manion, the 9/11 Heroes Run/Walk/Ruck has now spread to 38 different states. The event is suitable for all ages and abilities and raises money to help empower our veterans and the families of fallen heroes.

  • AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run – September 25, 2021 – Piedmont Park, 400 Park Dr. NE, Atlanta, GA
Give back to the community by running or walking in the 30th annual AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K run, which benefits nine local HIV/AIDS service organizations. The race is just the beginning of the fun, so you'll want to stick around for live music and entertainment, food trucks, health information, and the chance to see the AIDS Memorial Quilt display.
