  Proof Bakeshop is a neighborhood bakery offering delicious pastries, desserts, and breads. Their Country Sourdough is a tried and true favorite. Every loaf is tall and loaded with that classic, sour flavor. They also offer a Sesame Sourdough, which is lovely for making sandwiches.
  
  If you're at Proof Bakeshop around lunchtime, consider ordering some avocado toast or a pressed sandwich on sourdough. There's a cozy seating area where you can dine surrounded by fresh, green plants and sunny windows.
  
  
• Root Baking Co: 675 Ponce De Leon Ave. NE, Atlanta, GA 30308
  Root Baking Co. is located on the second floor of the Ponce City Market. They also sell their bread at the Morningside Farmers Market on Saturdays. This bakery sources their ingredients from local farmers and suppliers whenever possible, and they focus on creating delicious, southern-style treats, one of which is their sourdough.
  
  If you want to make sure you get a loaf, you can pre-order bread from Root Baking Co. via their website. When you pick up your bread, consider sticking around to enjoy one of their grain salads or egg sandwiches. 
  
  
• Alon's Bakery & Market: 3500 Peachtree Rd. Suite 1095 D, Atlanta, GA 30326
  Alon's Bakery & Market opened in 1992, and they've since received several awards for their European-style baked goods and gourmet sandwiches. Their sourdough is very traditional, made with an old-world levain, and it stays fresh for several days because of the way it's made.
  
  While you're picking up your bread, make sure you also order some sweets. The Pistachio Sable is a tasty choice, and the Kravoski, chewy almond cookies with raspberry preserves are incredible. 
  
  
• Georgia Sourdough Co: 3781 Presidential Parkway Ste. PF303, Atlanta, GA 30340
  With a name like Georgia Sourdough Co, this place has to be good. Indeed, this shop makes a wide range of sourdough products — not just bread. Their sourdough crackers are incredible, and they even sell sourdough starters that you can use to create your own sourdough at home. 
  
  Georgia Sourdough Co. is located inside the Presidential Building, and you'll also see them at the Peachtree Road Farmers Market on Saturdays. Along with their sourdough products, they carry a great selection of mustards, jams and jellies, cutting boards, and sweets.
  
  
• Evergreen Butcher + Baker: 2011 Hosea L. Williams Dr., Atlanta, GA 30317
  The owners of Evergreen Butcher + Baker go to great lengths to source their products locally and sustainably. As the name suggests, they sell both meats and baked goods. Emma, one half of the duo, attended the French Pastry School of Chicago and does the baking. Sean, a former executive chef, runs the butchery side of things.
  
  All bread sold at Evergreen Butcher + Baker is sourdough. They have a lovely einkorn and spelt loaf and also a delicious multigrain loaf. If you like making sandwiches, try the sandwich loaf, which is country sourdough baked in a loaf pan. Don't forget to complete your order with a brown sugar bun or croissant!
