4 Atlanta-Area Clubs to Take Your Running to the Next Level | JYB Realty

Running is such a welcoming sport. Each person can go at their own pace, set their own goals, and compete in races that appeal to them. Atlanta is lucky to have a vibrant running community. Whether you're a dedicated runner or are just starting out, our real estate agents recommend checking out one of these local running clubs for inspiration and friendship.

  1. Atlanta Track Club: Southside, Eastside, and Westside Atlanta BeltLine Trails
The Atlanta Track Club is Atlanta's largest and most active running club. They host multiple races each year, including the Publix Atlanta Marathon and the PNC Atlanta 10-miler and 5K. Members receive discounts on entry for these and other races.

The BeltLine Run Club is the Atlanta Track Club's weekly run group. They meet at a different location every week and then run together down various segments of the Atlanta BeltLine Trails. You can see a schedule of their upcoming runs on the Atlanta Track Club's website. Upcoming group runs include a February 8th run starting at 3 Taverns Imaginarium. Runs often start at Brewdog and Sweetwater Brewing, too.

  2. Big Peach Running Co: Midtown, Alpharetta, Decatur, and Marietta
Big Peach Running Co. is a running store with multiple locations throughout Atlanta. They host group runs out of most of their store locations. You can review their complete schedule on their website. The Alpharetta group meets on Mondays and Wednesdays, and a Decatur group meets on Wednesdays. If you're looking for a Saturday running group, check out the Midtown and Marietta runs.

Most Big Peach Running Co. runs are in the evening, but the Saturday groups meet in the morning. Runners of all abilities are welcome. There are multiple pace groups at each session.

  3. MARC: Smyrna and Marietta
MARC stands for Metro Area Running Club. This group meets in Smyrna for Tuesday night runs and also for Saturday long runs. On Thursday, they have group runs through Marietta. To become a member of MARC, there is a $35 annual fee. This fee gives you access to the group's coaches and training plans. It also allows you to participate in various track workouts throughout the year.

MARC is a very active club that hosts the Smyrna Village 5K each year. Members are invited to help with the race and get a discount if they participate.

  4. West Stride Women of the Woods: Trails Throughout Metro Atlanta
If you're a woman who wants to do more trail running, then West Stride's Women of the Woods is a club to consider joining. This group of women meets twice a month to run various trails throughout the Atlanta Metro Area.

Women of all ages, paces, and experience levels are welcome to join this group. All you need to do is sign up with your email, and you'll receive a message when there's an upcoming group run. Walkers or hikers are welcome to join, too. While most runs take place in wooded areas, some take place on paved bike paths in more suburban areas.

While running alone can be satisfying, running with a group is a great way to socialize and meet others who share your interests. If you're a runner considering moving to the area, feel free to contact us. We can help you find Atlanta homes for sale near the best trails, running stores, and running clubs.
