Find Vinyl at These 5 Atlanta Record Stores | JYB Realty

We may be able to carry countless songs on small devices, but that doesn't mean vinyl records have lost their popularity. In recent years, the old-school music medium has experienced a resurgence among music lovers who are drawn to its sound quality and cover art. Many new vinyl titles and rereleases are made available for the first time on National Record Store Day, which is celebrated on April 20, 2024. Whether you're waiting on a new release or want to hunt for older titles, our real estate agents recommend visiting these five Atlanta record stores where you can find your vinyl.

  1. The Record Loft ATL - 749 Moreland Ave. C202, Atlanta GA 30316
    The Record Loft ATL
started as a passion project of a couple who wanted to create a cozy atmosphere where fans of all genres of music could come to buy, sell, and trade their vinyl titles. The vibe is retro, and you can browse through crates of vinyl treasures of rock, pop, rap, R&B, jazz, soul, and country LPs. Most of the titles are used, but some new releases are also available. And if you need something to play your records on, the shop also sells stereo equipment.

  2. Fantasyland Records - 360 Pharr Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30305
When you visit Fantasyland Records, you're likely to get pleasantly lost in its selection of over 50,000 used vinyl LPs and 45s, as well as CDs and tapes. You'll find music from all genres, from the 1950s to new releases, in crates spread over multiple rooms. There's even a "strange and bizarre" section! The shop is so popular that famous musicians, including Eric Clapton, stop by and add to their vinyl collections when they're in town. Buy, sell, or trade your vinyl, and before you leave, make sure to check out the shop's collection of original concert T-shirts.

  3. Wax 'N' Facts - 432 Moreland Ave. NE, Atlanta GA 30307
A mainstay of Atlanta's eclectic Little Five Points neighborhood since 1976, Wax 'N' Facts sells new and reissued vinyl as well as used LPs in very good condition. You'll even find lots of 7-inch 45s available for just 25-50 cents each. Shoppers are encouraged to ask if they can't find something they're interested in since the sales floor isn't large enough to accommodate the thousands of additional LPs the store has. Almost any genre of music is available, but the store mainly focuses on rock, jazz, soul, R&B, hip hop, rap, EDM, disco, electronic and country.

  4. Criminal Records - 1154-A Euclid Ave. NE, Atlanta GA 30307
Also located in Atlanta's Little Five Points neighborhood, Criminal Records carries all genres of new and used LPs and 45s. If you love alternative, '80s, electronic, hip-hop, pop, and indie exclusives, you'll find an especially good selection. Artists sometimes perform at the store, adding to the fun. If you have a particularly large collection to sell or trade, buyers from the shop will come to you.

  5. Disorder Vinyl - 467 Edgewood Ave. SE, Atlanta, GA 30312
    Disorder Vinyl
calls itself "the coolest record store in Atlanta," and its setting is definitely pretty cool. It's located in the old Brown Hayes Department Store building, a brick store built in 1899 in Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward neighborhood. In addition to selling plenty of vinyl, the shop also hosts occasional live performances and gives away tickets to local venues.
