Coming right up on Friday, October 18, the Race for a Healthier World 5K is a great opportunity to run for a worthy cause. This event is organized by the Foundation for Fresh Produce, with proceeds going toward the foundation's initiatives to champion access to fresh fruits and vegetables for all Atlanta residents. The starting point of the Race for a Healthier World 5K is the Georgia International Plaza, not far from these Atlanta homes for sale. The race follows a scenic out-and-back course along the Santa Ana River Trail.
- Dyslexia Dash 2024 - 4400 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, GA 30346
Taking place at Atlanta's Perimeter Mall, the 2024 Dyslexia Dash returns on Saturday, October 19 this year. The race helps support the International Dyslexia Association Georgia, and it includes a 5K as well as a 1-mile kids' fun run. Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each category, and t-shirts are available for all participants. There will also be games and entertainment at the finish line, including a live DJ, photo booth, and face painting.

An annual tradition that spans two days on October 19 and 20, the PNC Atlanta 10 Miler & 5K is one of the city's most popular running and walking events. It starts Saturday morning with the 1-miler and dash, followed by the 10-mile walk/run and 5K on Sunday. The course begins and ends at the Atlantic Station shopping center and meanders through the charming streets of Atlanta's Buckhead neighborhood. Participation shirts and medals are provided, and you'll find ample opportunity for a great post-race meal at one of the Atlantic Center's many excellent restaurants.

Get into the Halloween spirit and enjoy a brisk run on October 26 with the 13th annual Creepy Crawly 5K, presented by the Mercer University Physician Assistant Program. The race takes place on the university campus, with registration at 8 a.m. and the race starting at 9 a.m., and it benefits the Good Samaritan Health Centers of Gwinnett. Participants in the Creepy Crawly 5K are encouraged to walk or run in costume, and prizes are awarded to the best costume (human and dog) and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers.
- Holy Halloween! 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk - 3493 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Brookhaven, GA 30319
Another fun Halloween-themed race in the Atlanta area, the Holy Halloween! 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk also arrives on October 26. This race takes place in Blackburn Park in the Atlanta suburb of Brookhaven, and runners and walkers of all abilities are invited to participate. Proceeds from the event benefit vulnerable children in Catholic Charities Atlanta's programs. The 5K starts at 8 a.m., followed by the 1-mile at 9 a.m., and participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes.
