Atlanta Food Trucks and Parks Worth the Trip | JYB Realty

Everyone knows that some of the best food you'll ever eat in your life comes from food trucks. These tiny kitchens on wheels are run by passionate people who keep their menus small to make the most of their limited space and resources. They make their food with love and impeccable attention to detail, and it shows.

Some folks stick to whichever food trucks are available nearby, but not our real estate agents. Our team has strong opinions about which local trucks are the best, and they'll go out of their way to visit their favorites. If you're looking for some new local eats, trust us: these food trucks and parks near our Atlanta homes for sale are worth going out of your way for.

Food Trucks and Parks to Check Out in Atlanta, GA

Shmackin' Taco

Shmackin' Taco's Atlanta truck is usually parked just off the corner of Sardis Way NE and Peachtree Road NE, right in the heart of Buckhead's commercial core. They serve a variety of authentic Mexican street foods, including:

  • Street tacos with a variety of fillings and sauces, including non-meat options
  • Mulitas packed with cheese, avocado, and steak
  • Crispy quesabirria tacos stuffed with juicy, spicy beef birria and Oaxaca cheese
  • Birria ramen bowls overflowing with their signature beef birria with ramen noodles and rich broth

Their Atlanta truck is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. There are no seats on-site, but you can always take your food over to nearby Buckhead Park if you don't want to eat in your car.

Stan's Smoke Signals BBQ

Address: 850 James Jackson Parkway NW, Atlanta, GA 30318

If the thought of barbecue food has your mouth watering, Stan's Smoke Signals BBQ is the place for you. Their menu is satisfyingly simple with just three meats to choose from:

  • Ribs
  • Chicken wings
  • One rotating specialty meat (pulled turkey, Cornish hen, and more)

Each meat is available as a large portion on its own or as a dinner with your choice of two sides. Side options include classic cookout fare like dirty rice, baked beans, and collard greens, all cooked and seasoned to perfection.

This truck is only open from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. They sell out of their most popular menu items early, so consider having lunch instead of dinner if you have your heart set on their famous ribs.

J's Smokehouse

Address: 3996 Pleasantdale Road, Suite 104B, Atlanta, GA 30340

You can find J's Smokehouse on the far end of the corner between Pleasantdale Road and Access Road in Doraville, an Atlanta neighborhood known for its stellar culinary scene. They offer deluxe versions of all your favorite cookout foods, including:

  • Nachos with cheese, peppers, and optional brisket
  • Smoked brisket sandwiches with housemade coleslaw and chips
  • Loaded hot dogs with chips on the side, including a vegan dog option

They're open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day except Sundays. They're almost always parked in their location in Doraville, but they occasionally make an appearance at outdoor events and pop-up markets around town.

Cafe Bourbon Street

Address: 680 Murphy Ave. SW, Atlanta, GA 30310

Cafe Bourbon Street is run by a family who moved to Atlanta from New Orleans years ago, but you can still taste their Cajun roots in their food. Their truck serves:

  • Grandma's Seafood Gumbo, their specialty dish
  • Shrimp and catfish étouffée
  • Shrimp, chicken, sausage, and catfish poboys
  • Sides like fries and sugar-dusted beignets

They're parked on Murphy Street every weekend from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Their truck also regularly appears at Smorgasburg (more on that later), so keep an eye out for them there if you take a liking to their food.

Smorgasburg ATL

Address: 140 Forsyth St. SW, Atlanta, GA 30303

Can't decide what kind of food truck you want to visit? At Smorgasburg ATL, you don't have to choose just one. This busy weekend festival brings more than a dozen food truck vendors together for a no-holds-barred food extravaganza that will leave you feeling spoiled for choice. Look out for:
